Recorded Live the previous year at Newcastle City Hall on the 18th of December, 1981, Slade On Stage was the band's third Live Album.

Released almost a year later, the album reached Number 58 in the UK Album Charts.

Slade fan, Kenny Bell, who was there on the night, had this to add about what was actually played on that gig! : -

   * during till deaf do us part Nods guitar string broke so it was left to Jim and Dave to cover for the rest of the number at the end Jim Dave and Don performed an instrumental version of the classic calypso number Yellow Bird
