Vandyke Brown - Million Copy Hit Songs Made Famous By Slade
When the following album crept into the shops, in 1974, fans could be forgiven for thinking that it actually was a Slade Compilation Album, whereas, in fact it was a "soundalike" Cover Version LP, by a band, called "Vandyke Brown"!
'Cos I Love You
Gudby Ta Jane
Mama Weer All Crazee Now
Look At Last Night
Keep On Rockin'
Take Me Back 'Ome
My Friend Stan
Look Wot You Dun
Let The Good Times Roll
Hear Me Calling
Come On Feel The Noize
Darling Be Home Soon
Later that same year, the LP was given a different Sleeve in the UK, possibly to avoid the confusion caused by the original Sleeve?

Some of the tracks had actually already previously been included the previous year, on a "Various Artists" Compilation LP.

My thanks to Chris 'The Historian' Selby for his relentless research. It is said, in certain circles, that Walsall Archives have a seat reserved specifically for him and that Wolverhampton archives consult him when searching the Express & Star
